ABOUT LOVE WHEEL
Love Wheel Records is a brick-and-mortar retailer located at 2105 Justin Lane in Austin TX. We sell new and used vinyl LPs, along with a curated selection of vinyl 45s, cassettes, CDs, books and other music-related items. We keep an eclectic variety of titles in stock, with something for every music enthusiast – from blues, folk, soul and country to all forms of rock and jazz, soundtracks, avant-garde and beyond.
We take pre-orders and special orders, for any title that’s available. We’re happy to ship any item for an extra $5 to anywhere in the continental United States. BOOK AN IN-STORE
If you have a new or recent release and you would like to promote it by doing an in-store live performance here, stop by the shop or email us at lovewheelrecords@gmail.com. We don’t book in-stores via social media messaging or over the phone. We have a simple PA, 3 vocal mics and 2 DI boxes, with two monitor wedges running a single mix across the front.
We generally host in-stores on a Friday evening at 7pm, although other days/times can usually be arranged if needed. For anyone new to the in-store thing: An in-store is not the same as a club show – these are promotional events where an artist or band plays a short (30 minutes is about right) set to promote a physical media release or a club show in town, and to sell their merchandise. Except for certain special events, we do not host multi-band shows, and we do not charge a cover.
In-stores here do not have a “built-in crowd”. Attendance is largely dependent on whatever promotion you do. If you have a digital flyer, please email it to us so we can put it up on our site and on social media. We have wall space for a physical flyer if you make one.
Please be advised this is a very small space – the store has a comfortable audience capacity of 30-35 people at most. If you’re loud it’s ok, we have earplugs. If you have never been here, we suggest you come by and check it out before asking to book an in-store, if possible.
Depending on what else is going on in a given month, there is a limit to how many instores we are able to host – so while we cannot always accommodate every artist who asks to do one, we try to work in as many in as we can, if it seems like a good fit for us. It can be a great way to promote a new release.
